How To Glaze Orange Marmalade Glazed Ham
Preheat oven to 180c / 160c fan-forced
Place oven shelf in lowest position. Line a large roasting pan with 2 sheets of baking paper.
Using a small, sharp knife, cut through rind, 10cm from shank end. Remove rind from ham.
Score the fat 5mm deep in a diamond pattern. Place ham in prepared roasting pan.
Combine marmalade, rum essence, sugar and orange juice in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes or until marmalade is melted.
Place ham on a wire rack in a roasting pan. Brush with one third marmalade mixture.
Bake ham, basting with remaining marmalade mixture every 30 minutes or until browned.
Serve warm or cold.
Tips for choosing your ham:
Look for a natural, meaty texture.
Choose a ham with a good, smokey flavour. We recommend our Black Forrest Hams and Gotzinger hams for the smokiest flavour.
Look for an even colouring on the rind of the ham to ensure it has been evenly smoked.
