Each steak is cut from British breed cattle raised in Tasmania under the Greenham Never Ever program — 100% grass fed and free from hormones, antibiotics and grain. Hand-cut and expertly trimmed for consistent thickness and even cooking.

Perfect for high-heat grilling or pan-searing.

Slice sizes are as follows:

  • Medium ~ 22mm/260g +/- 5%
  • Thick ~ 30mm/310g +/- 5%

Cape Grim rib fillet is tender, juicy and packed full of flavour. These are perfect when cooked medium rare, being one of the most tender cuts available. The little strip of fat renders down to create an incredibly tasty eating experience.

Marbling may vary from product picture.

Excellent but getting pricey

If it’s not on special I’m not sure I’d buy this again. It’s excellent, but the prices used to make it worth buying over supermarket or neighbourhood butcher prices. But if that doesn’t bother you, I’d hands down recommend it.

Tried the ‘specials’ but no comparison.

As a carnivore I rely on easy to cook, no fuss, tasty cuts of rib fillet.

I’ve been purchasing the rib fillets that are always on special for two years now only to find that they all taste ok, but, always, and I mean, always contain some kind of gristle that makes the eating experience a tragedy in the end. The price range specials I was choosing was between $50-$60. Then, ‘I went out on a limb’ and bought Cape Grim. Goodness me! This brand is absolutely ‘next level’. Blows all the specials away. No comparison! No tough bits! It is all very tender and absolutely divine in flavour. Saturated fats are a carnivores’ delight, and Cape Grim provides such pleasure! I even cut off the fatty bits after cooking, and cut them into smaller bits to consume with the last pieces of meat on my plate 🤣. Love it!

I must thank a very wise SuperButcher employee from the Morayfield branch for suggesting this cut too! He knows me pretty well. He also suggested I try the porterhouse version as he understands my life’s challenges on spending $375/fortnight is hurting my purse now 😩. The porterhouse is also a great cut! Although, less fat 😢. I also have them cut 40mm thick to make up the loss in a 30mm cut rib fillet👌🏼. Divine though 🤤

My cooking method on my outdoor BBQ to produce a medium rare delight: I cook with the lid down for 10min either side (@ 150c) take off the grill and allow to sit for 10min, fire up the grill - super hot - and sear either side for one minute. Allow to stand…

Hi Bradley,

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback — we're absolutely stoked to hear how much you're loving the Cape Grim rib fillet!

It's fantastic that you've noticed the difference in quality and tenderness compared to other cuts you've tried. Cape Grim's grass-fed beef really is something special, and we're thrilled it's delivering that "next level" experience you're after. Your appreciation for those beautiful saturated fats made us smile — sounds like you're getting the full carnivore experience!

We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to the team at Morayfield. It's great to hear they know their customers so well and can make recommendations that really hit the mark.

Thanks again for the fantastic review and for being such a loyal customer. We're chuffed that Cape Grim has become your go-to!

Once you select pick-up or delivery and enter the checkout, you will find the entry box on the right-hand side of our shipping details and choose your date pages (pages 1 and 2 of the checkout).

Our bulk beef items are advertised as they are, in bulk! This means they will hold some liquid in the bag, as genetically meat is roughly 75% water, 20% protein and 5% fat and other vitamins. These proteins mix with the liquids and extrude from meat over time (no, that's not blood in your bag).

If you are purchasing a bulk item and ask us to slice this into steaks for you, there is loss from this extrusion as well as the trim from any end cuts, large deposits of gristle or hard fats from the product.

Don't want any loss? Ask to keep the trim or for the product to be left whole so you can cut it at home.
