Bold, beefy and made for low-and-slow cooking, Josdale Grass Fed Black Angus Chuck Short Ribs deliver deep flavour and fall-apart tenderness when cooked properly. Sourced from premium Black Angus cattle roaming the lush green pastures of Gippsland, Victoria, these ribs are naturally rich, well-marbled, and packed with the collagen needed for rich, silky texture once slow cooked.

You'll find chuck short ribs closer towards the front of the steer right under the chuck, which sits above the shank and brisket. The chuck ribs run from the 1st to the 4th rib. Similar to the plate short ribs, the chuck ribs are still very meaty but are shorter in length, usually 3” to 6”.

Josdale Black Angus cattle can be found roaming the lush green pastures of Gippsland in Victoria, a region internationally renowned for consistently producing high quality beef. Working with trusted accredited farmers, Josdale source 100% naturally grass-fed Black Angus cattle, free from added antibiotics and added hormone growth promotants.

Their processing facility is close by, with all meat produced in accordance with strict quality protocols and industry standards approved by Aus-meat in Australia and USDA in the US.

All of our online products are vacuum sealed except for our fresh Sausages, Rissoles and Burgers, Pastries and crumbed products. Eg: Schnitzels, Chicken Kievs, Nuggets.

We offer free GPS tracked & refrigerated local delivery on orders over $200, or $19 under. Check if you’re eligible for delivery by opening the cart and using the postcode checker.

We also offer free pickup at any Super Butcher store from Tuesday to Saturday.

Our online delivery orders are packed neatly in a thick cardboard box with an insulated liner, complete with plenty of gel ice packs - all of which are soft plastics recyclable, and delivered fresh via refrigerated couriers. This box can keep your order cool for up to 4 hours after delivery.

Nice Rack!

i purchased two packs of these ribs (around 5kg) and smoked them overnight for a party. Even though there was tons of food options the ribs were first to run out. they looked very lean so i wrapped them after 3 hours and let them ride from there, turned out excellent with a nice natural flavour.

Very Meaty cut, slow cooked in Red Wine and stock for 3 hours, recipe by Gordon Ramsay. Delicious with Mash, baby carrots and peas, with Bacon and mushroom sauce. .... I ate till I nearly burst. ...Try It.

Once you select pick-up or delivery and enter the checkout, you will find the entry box on the right-hand side of our shipping details and choose your date pages (pages 1 and 2 of the checkout).

Our bulk beef items are advertised as they are, in bulk! This means they will hold some liquid in the bag, as genetically meat is roughly 75% water, 20% protein and 5% fat and other vitamins. These proteins mix with the liquids and extrude from meat over time (no, that's not blood in your bag).


If you are purchasing a bulk item and ask us to slice this into steaks for you, there is loss from this extrusion as well as the trim from any end cuts, large deposits of gristle or hard fats from the product.

Don't want any loss? Ask to keep the trim or for the product to be left whole so you can cut it at home.

By selecting "Yes" for “Keep the offcuts?” you’ll receive the smaller end pieces and trimmings that come from slicing your bulk beef — the same beef, just in uneven shapes and sizes, perfect for tallow or a super special treat for your furry friends.
